Serial (Kindle Edition) by Jack Kilborn

Serial
Remember the twin golden rules of hitchhiking?
# 1: Don-t go hitchhiking, because the driver who picks you up could be certifiably crazy.
# 2: Don-t pick up hitchhikers, because the traveler you pick up could be raving nutcase.
So what if, on some dark, isolated road, Crazy
#1 offered a ride to Nutcase
#2? When two of the most twisted minds in the world of horror fiction face off, the result is SERIAL, a terrifying tale of hitchhiking gone terribly wrong. Like a deeply twisted version of an -After School Special,- SERIAL is the single most persuasive public service announcement on the hazards of free car rides. Beyond a thrilling piece of horrifying suspense, SERIAL is also a groundbreaking experiment in literary collaboration. Kilborn wrote the first part. Crouch wrote the second. And they wrote the third together over email in 100-word exchanges, not aware of each other-s opening section. All bets were off, and may the best psycho win.

Amazon hasn't listed the description yet, so here it is:

Remember the twin golden rules of hitchhiking?

# 1: Don't go hitchhiking, because the driver who picks you up could be certifiably crazy.

# 2: Don't pick up hitchhikers, because the traveler you pick up could be a raving nutcase.

So what if, on some dark, isolated road, Crazy #1 offered a ride to Nutcase #2?

When Blake Crouch (DESERT PLACES, ABANDONED) and Jack Kilborn (AFRAID, TRAPPED), face off, the result is SERIAL, a terrifying tale of hitchhiking gone terribly wrong. Like a deeply twisted version of an "After School Special," SERIAL is the single most persuasive public service announcement on the hazards of free car rides.

Beyond a thrilling piece of horrifying suspense, SERIAL is also a groundbreaking experiment in literary collaboration. Kilborn wrote the first part. Crouch wrote the second. And they wrote the third together over email in 100-word exchanges, not aware of each other's opening section. All bets were off, and may the best psychopath win.

F. Paul Wilson says, "SERIAL reads just like a Crouch or Kilborn novel: Full speed ahead, no flinching, no blinking, no brakes."

SERIAL contains the 7500 word novella, SERIAL, a Q&A with Kilborn and Crouch, author bibliographies, and excerpts from their most recent and forthcoming works: Kilborn's AFRAID and Crouch's ABANDON.

And finally, a note/disclaimer from the authors:

SERIAL is a horror novella written by two of the most twisted minds in the world of horror fiction.

But just because it is 100% free doesn't mean you should automatically download it.

This is disturbing stuff. Perhaps too disturbing.

If you can handle horrific thrills, proceed at your own risk.

But if you suffer from anxiety attacks, nervous disorders, insomnia, nightmares or night terrors, heart palpitations, stomach problems, or are of an overly sensitive nature, you should read something else instead.

The authors are in no way responsible for any lost sleep, missed work, failed relationships, or difficulty in coping with life after you have read SERIAL. They will not pay for any therapy you may require as a result of reading SERIAL. They will not cradle you in their arms, rock you back and forth, and speak in soothing tones while you unsuccessfully try to forget SERIAL.

Yes, it's free. But free has its price.

You have been warned.

A 2nd Warning from Another of the Authors, May 24, 2009

Hello all, Blake Crouch here. I feel compelled to second the warning posted by my co-author, Mr. Kilborn.

When we say this is a scary, terrifying, and violent story, we really do mean it. That isn't exaggeration or hype. Read the product description and the first review (which is actually a message from Jack Kilborn) before you ingest this little capsule of terror. It's about 2 awful human beings doing awful things, so it doesn't contain bunnies or fuzzy slippers or heart-shaped cookies or hugs or kittens. So....if violence offends you, do yourself a great favor and don't read it.

All best,
Blake

Divine Soul Songs Soothe and Heal the Soul, Heart, Mind and Body, June 9, 2009
This book is a treasure.

It is filled with so many practical, easy-to-use practices that come from the Divine. They come from the soul. They come from the song of the soul.

Dr. Sha teaches that just as human beings have different languages and songs, so do souls. He gives you much more than this though. Dr. Sha teaches you the secrets on how to do it. It is an amazing experience to sing Soul Song.

If you are simply looking for a way to heal your back issues, you will find tools in this book that will help you do it. If you are looking to become a better, more loving, father, mother, or friend, you will find the way in this book. If you want to know deep sacred wisdom about the universe, you will find it in this book.

This book releases in written form the Divine Soul Songs of:
* Love, Peace and Harmony
* God Gives His Heart to Me
* Yin Yang
* Five Elements
* Message Energy Matter
* Universal Service

Each one carries special power for healing, rejuvenation, transformation, and enlightenment. Each one can bring about all of this in a joy-filled, fun way.

What can be more fun than singing your way to healing, prevention, rejuvenation?

In addition, there is a bonus CD that contains samples of most of these Divine Soul Songs so it is very easy to learn how to sing them right along with Dr. Sha.

I have learned how to sing and apply these Soul Songs long before this book was published. How? Dr. Sha has made them available on his web site and through CDs. I have used them for soul healing, blessing, and life transformation. If I am feeling imbalanced, I sing a Soul Song. If I am tired and need energy, I sing a Soul Song. If I want to become more loving and understanding, I sing a Soul Song. When I want better sleep, I sing a Soul Song. What I need, I sing my way to it through the divine blessings contained within these Soul Songs.

If you are reading this and think I sound biased, I will leave you with this thought. If you really like something in life and are passionate about it, you usually allow that to come through. I love Soul Songs because I know they work. I tell people about Soul Songs because I know they work. I write this review to share my experience because I hope that they can help you too.

Master Sha always teaches, "If you want to know if the pear is sweet, taste it. If you want to know if any soul healing works for you, experience it." I recommend that you go to Dr. Sha's web site and you can listen to Master Sha's Soul Songs and see a TV program that have Soul Songs in them.

Note: I was blessed to preview this book before its official release.

Excuses Begone!: How to Change Lifelong, Self-Defeating Thinking Habits

Within the pages of this transformational book, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer reveals how to change the self-defeating thinking patterns that have prevented you from living at the highest levels of success, happiness, and health. Even though you may know what to think, actually changing those thinking habits that have been with you since childhood might be somewhat challenging.

If I changed, it would create family dramas . . . I’m too old or too young . . . I’m far too busy and tired . . . I can’t afford the things I truly want . . . It would be very difficult for me to do things differently . . . and I’ve always been this way . . . may all seem to be true, but they’re in fact just excuses. So the business of modifying habituated thinking patterns really comes down to tossing out the same tired old excuses and examining your beliefs in a new and truthful light.

In this groundbreaking work, Wayne presents a compendium of conscious and subconscious crutches employed by virtually everyone, along with ways to cast them aside once and for all. You’ll learn to apply specific questions to any excuse, and then proceed through the steps of a new paradigm. The old, habituated ways of thinking will melt away as you experience the absurdity of hanging on to them.

You’ll ultimately realize that there are no excuses worth defending, ever, even if they’ve always been part of your life—and the joy of releasing them will resonate throughout your very being. When you eliminate the need to explain your shortcomings or failures, you’ll awaken to the life of your dreams.

Excuses . . . Begone!

No more excuses: this will blow your "habitual mind",May 26, 2009

I have read most of Wayne's books, and this was one of the better ones. I used a highlighter on many areas of the book: I love Wayne's style of intertwining great philosophical quotes, anecdotes and personal stories to illustrate his points.

The book starts out citing compelling science and studies, including Bruce Lipton's research proving that genes are far from destiny, and that our beliefs influence even our genes. This is truly the foundation for a "no excuses" paradigm. Wayne delves into the concept of memes, or mind viruses and explains how these are passed on to people like cold viruses.

Next, 18 typical excuses are presented (many of these solicited from his readers). It will be difficult, risky, take too long, create family drama; I don't deserve it; it's against my nature; I can't afford it (surely a popular one today!); no one will help me; it's not happened before; I'm not strong/smart enough; I'm too old/too young; the rules/laws won't let me; it's too big; I don't have the energy/time; it's in my family history; I'm afraid. I was disappointed that my favorite excuse "I'll do it later" wasn't listed, although it was addressed indirectly in various parts of the book, especially in the "commitment to overcoming the inertia" part.

The second section seven contains principles for overcoming excuses: awareness, alignment, now, contemplation (with a very powerful quote from Aristotle--"Contemplation is the highest form of activity"), willingness, passion and compassion.

The third section promotes a new way of viewing excuses, creating a paradigm shift. This includes asking yourself six questions, starting out with "Is it true?" Where did the excuse come from? What is the payoff?" These are very reminiscent of Bryon Katie except that instead of undoing beliefs, you are undoing excuses and eradicating them from your subconscious mind (which Wayne argues need not be beneath your consciousness, and in fact renames as the "habitual mind").

I see people all the time using these excuses to avoid eating a better diet of more raw foods: It will create family drama; I don't have the time to fix good food; I don't have the money to buy fresh produce." My father's excuse was, "I am too old." Unfortunately, he died of cancer two years after using that excuse!

I am confident that this book will inspire people to take a new look at their habitual mind patterns, breaking free to move on to their highest potential!

Life changing, May 23, 2009
Life changing, habit changing, relief are only some of the words that describe the teaching I received from this cd set. Dr. Wayne Dyer has incredible timimg in my life with his books, cd's, and videos that allow me to go to the next step in my life. It's time for all of us in this world to let go of all the excuses that are holding us back from being who we want to be and his teaching will help. I am very grateful to have received this material on a preorder instead of having to wait for it to arrive in a store. Thanks Amazon.

After witnessing a murder and barely escaping with her life, Gabrielle Maxwell does what any good and sane citizen would do; she calls the police. Upon their arrival, they find nothing that indicates anything violent happened outside the nightclub. While Gabrielle insists that she's not lying, she can't help but think she might be insane like her birth mother. The only thing that gives her hope that she is perfectly sane is the pictures she took on her cell phone as she was running away from the group of men who so savagely murdered a man right in front of her. When "Detective" Lucan Thorne appears on her doorstep, she has no reason to doubt his authenticity.

Lucan Thorne is instantly attracted to Gabrielle and almost makes an irreversible mistake when he attempts to take her blood. Seeing the mark that shows Gabrielle is a Breedmate, Lucan knows that he can't take her blood, nor can he leave her to continue living the life she has. Only a handful of human women are marked as such and to take her blood would mean mating with her for life. The the leader of an elite group of warriors, the Breed only works to protect humans from vampires that have let Bloodlust overcome them and become Rogue. When it seems that the Rogues are somehow organizing their ranks and starting a war in the human world, Lucan is determined that Gabrielle won't end up in the middle of it.

I was skeptical when I first picked this book up. There are so many new paranormal/vampire authors popping up, but Lara Adrian somehow kept it fresh with her new "Midnight" series. Throwing in a whole new twist on where vampires come from and what they represent, KISS OF MIDNIGHT is a promising start to a new vampire series.

Kenyon and Ward fans should enjoy this series.

Derivative but still a great read,November 14, 2007
There's absolutely no doubt as to the readership to whom this book is meant to appeal - the commendation from J R Ward, author of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, gives a big clue. This book is very, very similar to the Black Dagger Brotherhood and will no doubt be enjoyed by those who like those books; the similarities are very marked - a small number of warrior vampires live together in a compound and fight against strong and numerous adversaries. This is the first in the series and it's very akin to Ward's "Dark Lover" (in fact at one point the heroine describes the hero as her dark lover), in that the hero is the leader of the band of warriors, that he isn't looking for a romantic involvement and yet he discovers that a woman is linked to the vampire nation although she herself is oblivious of that fact. There are even mentions of a Red Sox hat, there's a computer expert vampire, a monosyllabic and weird vampire, the death of one of the six warrior vampires... the comparisons with the BDB go on and on.

And yet this is a book in its own right and it has its differences. There are several good things about this book when comparing it to the BDB. The first is that the characters don't have silly names but just unusual ones - the hero is Lucan, we also meet Tegan, Nikolai, Dante, Rio, Gideon and Conlan. Secondly there aren't loads of odd words with extra letter h peppered throughout the text which I always found rather cheesy. Thirdly the sections dealing with the Rogues, those against whom the warriors are fighting, aren't as extensive (I always find myself skim-reading the Lesser sections in the BDB) and in this series the Rogues are vampires gone bad rather than a separate species.

There are some aspects about this book that didn't feel as accomplished as the BDB. The characterisation felt somehow less authentic although it was hard to put my finger on why. Gabrielle, the heroine, was a plucky woman who seemed able to cope with an awful lot of scary information in one go, perhaps too much. Lucan's conflicted nature about not wanting a mate and being afraid that he's about to lose the plot from Bloodlust was perhaps overplayed in the book but was necessary for the suspense in the plot. And in some ways perhaps that's my chief disappointment with the story, that the overall idea on which this book hung didn't seem quite developed enough. It was a good read with some spicy scenes between hero and heroine, some fighting, lots of blood and gore and awkward relationships amongst the vampire warriors but somehow it didn't quite grip me as much as the BDB. However J R Ward's novels definitely improved as she got into her writing stride with them (with the exception of Vishous' novel) and I have hopes that Lara Adrian's books will equally mature as she continues the series.

For those who like the Black Dagger Brotherhood this is a worthy read alongside that series. For those who haven't read that series, read this one first, and enjoy it, and then read the BDB and enjoy it too. For those who don't like the BDB this book probably isn't for you. Some people may moan about the similarities between the two series but I think there is room in this genre for other books of a similar type as long as they have their own individual differences as well and as long as plot and characterisation are well-written. This is a good start to the series and I have already purchased the sequel.

The Merchant of Death

The Merchant of Death
In Pendragon: The Merchant of Death, D.J. MacHale, the creator of several popular television series and Afterschool Specials, transplants the Pendragon name from Arthurian legend to modern-day junior high school. Fourteen- year-old Bobby Pendragon has it all; he's smart, popular, and a star basketball player in quiet Stony Brook, Connecticut. But a visit from Uncle Press soon topples all of that as Bobby learns that he is a Traveler, someone who can ride "flumes" through time and space. Bobby lands in Denduron, a medieval world where the gentle Milago are enslaved by the Bedoowan, and it's Bobby's job to free them. He reluctantly teams up with Loor--a girl his age from the warrior-territory of Zadaa--and other Travelers, recounting his adventures in journals that are magically transported back to his friends Mark and Courtney in Stony Brook. These first-person journals at times feel contrived--they're riddled with terms like "coolio" and "bizarro" and gnarly descriptions of vile sights and smells--but the book's thumping story soon scrubs away all such concern. The Merchant of Death keeps the pages flipping with steady action and near-constant mortal peril for its heroes, promising that both this and future volumes in the Pendragon series should be eagerly devoured. (Ages 10 and older) --D.J. Morel

"Pen"ed to the Pages: A Pageturner full of Twists, June 11, 2003
At first sighting, this book looked distinctly, er, okay, boyish, from the apparently gruesome title and sinister looking cover. It took one of my friends saying "you HAVE to read this" to get me to buy it. Even then I suspected that "the Merchant of Death" was definitely not something I was going to buy into.

SUPRISE! I opened the cover and was shocked to discover that the first thing Bobby Pendragon (our protoganist) was doing was kissing a girl! The book was certainly more appealing now with a tad bit of romance and I started to enjoy the story.

Bobby Pendragon's Uncle Press shows up unexpectedly and sweeps him away to another "territory" called Denduron, through a doorway in a New York subway tunnel (no easy access here!) despite being chased by wild beasts called quigs. Bobby soon realizes that his notions of reality are way off.

Bobby is fated to help save the Milago people from their oppressors, the people of the neighboring Bedoowan. Reluctant and scared, Bobby wants to return to his perfect life at home, where he was considered smart, popular, a jock, and not to mention the love interest of the coolest girl in his grade. But no such luck; he must learn how to use his Traveler powers to help save this world...and all the others...from complete distruction...

I really enjoyed this novel. It is told in narrative form as Bobby writes scrolls back to his best friend Mark and sort-of girlfriend Courtney back on Second-Earth to tell them what is happening, and then switches to third-person once in a while to describe what Courtney and Mark are doing. It was fast-paced and Bobby's witty comments made me laugh.

Be warned, this novel also contains explicit language and the afore-mentioned making-out scenes. These parts are appropriate however, and I think that they added a sense of humanity to the read. I'd say do not let this stop you from reading the book!

So go grab the book at your local bookstore and spread the word: its not just for boys! 4 stars for lots of action, not a 5 because the plot was simplistic. I hope the sequel, the Lost City of Faar, is just as good! Happy Reading!

Amazing Start to An Exciting New Series, April 1, 2004

Fourteen-year-old Bobby Pendragon has always thought that he had a normal life. He has a great family, great friends, was lucky enought to have kissed the most perfect girl, has a perfect dog, Marley, and has a super-cool Uncle. But there's something that Bobby never knew about himself, and is about to find out. He's destined to save the world. No, not in ten years from now, but at this very instant. And no, not on this Earth, because life on this Earth is different than Bobby ever thought it could be. Bobby will be saving the world on an alternate dimension called Denduron, a territory inhabited by many strange beings, that is plagued by a dangerous revolution, and ruled by a magical tyrant. Now Bobby is forced to accept his role as savior to the people of Denduron, or else he won't ever see his family again. Besides, Denduron is only the beginning.

D.J. MacHale is a fantastic author who has created an interesting, and out-of-this-world dimension that will pull readers in from the very first page. Bobby is a fun character, who, even though he has to save the world, and is in an alternate dimension, uses teenage lingo of today (i.e. cool, awesome, etc.), that readers will be able to relate to and understand quite well. PENDRAGON: THE MERCHANT OF DEATH is told in alternating chapters between Bobby's journals, and his friends (Mark and Courtney) quest to find Bobby and save him from untimely death, which gives the reader the chance to read both sides of the story. This is an interesting and exciting addition to the science fiction / fantasy genre. A must read.

Calculus (With Analytic Geometry)(8th edition) Calculus (With Analytic Geometry)(8th edition) By Ron Larson, Robert P. Hostetler, Bruce H. Edwards

Designed for the three-semester calculus course for math and science majors, Calculus continues to offer instructors and students new and innovative teaching and learning resources. This was the first calculus text to use computer-generated graphics, to include exercises involving the use of computers and graphing calculators, to be available in an interactive CD-ROM format, to be offered as a complete, online calculus course, and to offer a two-semester Calculus I with Precalculus text. Every edition of the series has made the mastery of traditional calculus skills a priority, while embracing the best features of new technology and, when appropriate, calculus reform ideas. Now, the Eighth Edition is the first calculus program to offer algorithmic homework and testing created in Maple so that answers can be evaluated with complete mathematical accuracy.
Calculus (With Analytic Geometry)(8th edition)
Two primary objectives guided the authors in writing this book: to develop precise, readable materials for students that clearly define and demonstrate concepts and rules of calculus and to design comprehensive teaching resources for instructors that employ proven pedagogical techniques and saves the instructor time. 5 stars Excellent textbook for calculus; well-written., June 13, 2006
I have been a fan of Roland Larson's math textbooks, as they have always been very clear and the practice problems always make sense. I was recently stuck in some calculus courses which used the calculus textbook by James Stewart, and that book is a nightmare! Fortunately, my multivarible calc prof prefers Larson's book, which is what we use in class. Very good book; I recommend it much over Stewart's. Also, do note that the odd-exercise solutions are posted for free online at Roland Larson's website, which is given to you in the book.
Great book for Intro Calculus Course, August 8, 2006
This book clearly explains the different mathematical techniques of Calculus and provides great problems for practice. It shows a step-by-step process of how to perform different techniques and explains how and why they work, which is probably the most important facet of actually learning calculus. In other words, it breaks down a daunting subject into something easy to understand.

Orginally Material-Cliche Writing4
I read this book The Da Vinci Codeand was truly entertained by the pace that Dan Brown keeps the story moving. The moment the book opens the reader cares about the murder and the protaganists are on the run in the opening pages.
Soaking up the drama, the ideas, and the imagery and the mystery is easy.

But what I could have done without, was Brown's preference for cliches. Phrases that a ninth grader would have used. Literally, the writing let down the subject matter. And not that the subject matter was treated all that well either. Brown abuses the long winded explanation. And beyond misusing a few methods; his jumps in logic are only outdone by his way of taking 98% of every conspiracy therory on earth and rolling it into one giant mystery that only the protaganists can solve. That takes guts to be so brazen as to write the solution to every conspiracy of all time.

Looking beyond the adolescent phrasing and arrogance, Dan Brown, kept me turn pages, or hitting buttons, Because I read it on my Kindle. It is a fun read, eventhogh it could never claim to be an intellectual one.

Good Yarn Based on Incorrect Premise4
As a book, this is an entertaining read which transferred well into the movie genre. The plot, derived from a similar work by other authors, is well conceived and very accessible. However, the premise is wrong. Jesus was celibate and, even though Mary Magdelene was far more important to him than the church claims, she was not his wife and did not have a child to him. If she did, there would have been reams of accounts written about that happenstance over hundreds of years. In fact, nothing at all of the kind is mentioned anywhere (except in 20th century conspiracy novels). I am prepared to accept that Mary Magdelene was a disciple of Christ and perhaps even his first choice to lead the new church, but definitely not prepared to believe that she was his wife and the mother of his child. The "holy grail" was indeed the cup from which Jesus drank at the Last Supper. No doubt, the knights templar and others would prize any artifact that their spiritual master had laid hands on. Great story though.

The Sea of Monsters After a summer spent trying to prevent a catastrophic war among the Greek gods, Percy Jackson finds his seventh-grade school year unnervingly calm. But things don't stay quiet for long. Percy soon discovers there is trouble at Camp Half-Blood: the magical borders which protect Half-Blood Hill have been poisoned by a mysterious enemy, and the only safe haven for demigods is on the verge of being overrun by mythological monsters. To save the camp, Percy needs the help of his best friend, Grover, who has been taken prisoner by the Cyclops Polyphemus on an island somewhere in the Sea of Monsters--the dangerous waters Greek heroes have sailed for millennia--only today, the Sea of Monsters goes by a new nameL: the Bermuda Triangle. Now Percy and his friends must retrieve the Golden Fleece from the Island of the Cyclopes by the end of the summer or Camp Half-Blood will be destroyed. But first, Percy will learn a stunning new secret about his family--one that makes him question whether being claimed as Poseidon's son is an honor or simply a cruel joke...

The Titan's Curse When Percy Jackson receives a distress call from his friend Grover, he immediately prepares for battle. He knows he'll need his powerful demigod allies, Annabeth and Thalia, at his side; his trusty broze sword Riptide; and... a ride from his mom. The demigods race to the rescue, to find that Grover has made an important discovery: two new powerful half-bloods whose parentage is unknown. But that's not all that awaits them. The Titan lord, Kronos, has set up his most devious trap yet, and the young heroes have unwittingly fallen prey. Hilarious and action-packed, this third adventure in the series finds Percy faced with his most dangerous challenge so far: the chilling prophecy of the Titan's curse.

Great Adventure!5
My 5th grade son is on his second round through the series. He disappears for hours! He and his friends have all loved the series and couldn't put them down. Counting down for #5 in May. . .

Could not put them down5
Sort of follows the lines of Harry Potter: troubled kid finds out he's special (more special than others of his kind). Insert the world of the Greek Gods in the place of the world of wizards & there ya be. Putting all this aside, these stories are great in their own right - I could not put them down. This collection contains the first three books in the series & given that I read them all within 2 days, I will now be looking to purchase the remainder in the series.

Highly recommend that you purchase these books - no matter what age you are!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians5
Wonderfully fun read. Clever weave of how the Greek gods still fit into modern day and recent history. Characters will capture the imagination of young adults and still be interesting for the older folks. Teachers this is an amazing way to teach mythology. Better than any teachers "edition" or "help" book. Your students will REMEMBER the intracies of Greek mythology and the iconic use of these characters in our culture.

An ancient secret brotherhood. A devastating new weapon of destruction. An unthinkable target. When world-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to his first assignment to a Swiss research facility to analyze a mysterious symbol -- seared into the chest of a murdered physicist -- he discovers evidence of the unimaginable: the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati...the most powerful underground organization ever to walk the earth. The Illuminati has now surfaced to carry out the final phase of its legendary vendetta against its most hated enemy -- the Catholic Church.

Langdon's worst fears are confirmed on the eve of the Vatican's holy conclave, when a messenger of the Illuminati announces they have hidden an unstoppable time bomb at the very heart of Vatican City. With the countdown under way, Langdon jets to Rome to join forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and mysterious Italian scientist, to assist the Vatican in a desperate bid for survival.

Embarking on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra follow a 400-year-old trail of ancient symbols that snakes across Rome toward the long-forgotten Illuminati lair...a clandestine location that contains the only hope for Vatican salvation.

Critics have praised the exhilarating blend of relentless adventure, scholarly intrigue, and cutting wit found in Brown's remarkable thrillers featuring Robert Langdon. An explosive international suspense, Angels & Demons marks this hero's first adventure as it careens from enlightening epiphanies to dark truths as the battle between science and religion turns to war.

Decent Time Killer4
Reading a Dan Brown book and giving it poor reviews based on its accuracy it like giving a Tom and Jerry cartoon a bad review becuase mice dont really hit cats with frying pans.
Yes, there are some really bad inaccuracies and "Could never happens"
Yes, the character development is not great
Yes, it follows the exact same plots as his other novels
But, you know what? I dont read thrillers for their accuracies. I dont care about the poor character development. I wanted a bit of action, a bit of suspense and a bit of imagination. I got all three. If youre looking for something taht can "truely happen", read Tom Clancy. If you just want something you can read and not have to think about and just enjoy the story for what it is, this will surely get you there.
